The Office
The Office of the Association of Protestant Churches and Missions in Germany is in Hamburg. The team there supports the work of the EMW organization in four units. In these units, topics are dealt with, networks are supported, projects of the partners are accompanied in terms of content and administration, and services for members are offered.

The Directorate
Rainer Kiefer
Pastor Rainer Kiefer, General Secretary of the EMW, spent two years abroad in South Africa and Great Britain and then became executive director of the Stuttgart office of the German National Committee of the Lutheran World Federation. As a theologian he was responsible for world mission and ecumenism, public relations and journalism in the administrative office of the Lutheran church of Hanover before coming to the EMW in Hamburg.

Communication
Corinna Waltz
The theologian and journalist Corinna Waltz is responsible for EMW’s communications work in print and digital. She is editor-in-chief of the magazine “EineWelt” and heads the publishing house Missionshilfe Verlag. After completing her traineeship as a television editor, she was responsible for media work in a regional mission organization and then worked in the communications department of a social-diaconal enterprise.

Theology and Ecumenism
Silja Joneleit-Oesch
Dr. Silja Joneleit-Oesch brings experience from project management in development cooperation and advocacy work in the NGO scene (most recently at the Christian Blind Mission CBM). Her main focus is intercultural theology and the connection between theology and holistic church work. She supports theological education as a member of the board of trustees of the Lutheran Theological University in Oberursel. In the EMW she contributes her theological and international experience as an advisor for Theology and Ecumenism and for Theological Education.

Almut Nothnagle
Rev. Dr. Almut Nothnagle has experience in church and school ministry in Germany and abroad. In the EMW she deals with the Middle East, Asia and Africa, as she did previously with the Berliner Missionswerk. She chairs the German coordinating committee of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel, is the executive director of the EKD Advisory Committee for the Horn of Africa, and is the rotating executive director of the Protestant Middle East Commission (EMOK).

Eckhard Zemmrich
Rev. Dr. Eckhard Zemmrich was theological consultant in the consistory of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia. He also taught and researched in Jakarta and at the Humboldt University in Berlin on issues of intercultural theology and religious studies before taking up his work at the EMW. With his experiences from Indonesia he complements the theological unit.

Eckhard Zemmrich
Rev. Dr. Eckhard Zemmrich was a research assistant at the Indonesian Federation of Churches in Jakarta for three years and has taken over the coordination of the volunteer work of the EMW members. He represents the concerns of the EMW and its members to the government ministries.

Lobby and Advocacy Work
Two project offices are also based at the Normannenweg office: the Ozeanien-Dialog and Dalit Solidarität in Germany. In addition, the national coordination of the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) is located at the EMW.

The Ozeanien-Dialog strengthens Pacific voices in Europe and is active with NGOs and Churches in Oceania for resource justice, climate justice and human rights.
